Ceramic fiber blanket and aluminum silicate needle blanket are two common industrial insulation materials, which play an important role in many applications. Although they are both materials used for thermal insulation, there are some obvious differences in production process, performance, application, etc.
Ceramic fiber is made by double-sided needle punching process, which can adapt to high and low temperature environment and work well. According to the different production processes on the market, ceramic fiber blankets are generally divided into two categories, namely, cast wire blankets and spray wire blankets.
Aluminum silicate needle blanket is a kind of heat-insulating refractory material made of aluminum silicate long fibers using a resistance furnace and aluminum silicate as raw material
(1) Thermal Insulation Performance
Both ceramic fiber blankets and aluminum silicate needle blankets have good thermal insulation performance, but in high temperature environments, ceramic fiber blankets have better thermal insulation effects. Ceramic fiber blankets have high refractory temperatures and can withstand higher operating temperatures, while aluminum silicate needle blankets exhibit good thermal insulation performance in a lower temperature range.
(2) Corrosion Resistance
Ceramic fiber blankets have high corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of a variety of chemical substances, so they are widely used in chemical, electric power and other industries. The corrosion resistance of aluminum silicate needle blankets is relatively weak, and care should be taken to prevent chemical erosion during use.
(3) Mechanical Properties
Aluminum silicate needle blankets have high tensile strength and flexural strength, and have good mechanical properties. They are suitable for some occasions that need to withstand certain mechanical loads. The mechanical properties of ceramic fiber blankets are relatively weak, and care should be taken to avoid excessive stretching and folding during use.
Since there are certain differences in performance between ceramic fiber blankets and aluminum silicate needle-punched blankets, their application fields are also different.
Ceramic fiber blankets are mainly used for heat preservation in high temperature environments, such as petrochemical, electric power, metallurgy and other industries.
Aluminum silicate needle blankets are widely used in the field of heat preservation and heat insulation in the construction, shipbuilding, vehicle and other industries, and can also be used for heat preservation of furnaces, pipelines and other equipment.
Although both ceramic fiber blanket and aluminum silicate needle blanket are thermal insulation materials, they have obvious differences in production process, performance and application. When choosing thermal insulation materials, you should choose the appropriate material according to the specific working environment and use requirements to achieve the best thermal insulation effect and service life.
